The perfect time to go always depends on the type of vacation you might want to have and how much you would like to avoid people. It also depends, of course, on your availability and what you can pay and do during that time. Anyway, Cape Cod is always a great alternative for a family vacation.
July – August
Summer is always a great time to be near the sea so no wonder why July – August is a great time to go. You will be near the sea with perfect weather every day, all day long. The downside of this is you won’t be the only one. Many people come to Cape Cod at that time of the year. For this reason, everything is more expensive and crowded. Yet again, if you don’t mind paying a little more or crowed places, this lovely time of the year would be great.
September – October
This is the best time to go if you are in a low budget and you want to be in a more quiet place. It might not be as sunny as in July- August and it can be a bit chilly at night but the weather is still very nice for swimming and midday walks alongside the shore. Also, most of the people have already left and making a dinner reservation or booking a boat ride won’t be as hectic or need to do it in advance. More importantly for most, hotels and resorts low their prices making your trip more affordable.
November – April
This is the least favorable time to go to Cape Cod. The water is cold and it is very breeze. Most of the attractions also close during these months so there won’t be as much to see and do as the rest of the months. However, if you don’t mind the weather and you just want to go away from city life for a while, this is a great time to do so. You can take advantage of the discounts in hotels, resorts, restaurants, and attractions that are still open on these months. Cape Cod also has a great nightlife if you ever get bored and want some fun.
May – June
Out of all, the best time of the year to go. Accommodation is still low and there are not as many people as in July- August. The weather is also nice and getting nicer and nicer as the days go by. It is important to keep in mind that all of the bargain and discounts will be available up to Memorial Day, the official beginning of the summer. So if you want to get to enjoy Cape Cod without the stress of seeing lots of people every way you go and also getting the discounts and nice weather, May – June are the months you should be planning on going.
As you can see Cape Cod is not just for a summer vacation. You can go at any time of the year and still have a great time. It will come down to what your expectations are regarding your vacations and how much money you are willing to invest.
